Lisa Coleman's Once There Was A... Children's Book & Song/CD Series visit us at our NEW website

I am BEYOND EXCITED to announce that my ‘ONCE THERE WAS A’ Series is completed and ready for purchase! These children’s book all began as songs that were:
Inspired by…REAL ANIMALS, REAL EVENTS
Teaching...REAL LIFE LESSONS
These songs have been sung over and over again to all of the children who have come through the doors of Flowered Rock Farm (camps, retreats, lessons, homeschool, etc.)
After the songs were completed, and kid approved, they were then transformed into books with beautifully illustrated pictures. The illustrator is Cristina Cutino, a gifted 16 year old artist with a long history of friendship with the farm animals. The songs were then recorded so that children (and adults alike) could sing-a-long as they flip through the pages of these adorable, farm tales.
There are three books:
ONCE THERE WAS A… CHICKEN
- This was the first song/book written. It is based on a chicken whose rabbit friend left for greener grass, leaving the chicken very sad and lonely. Through the love of the children at the farm...the chicken learned a very important lesson.
ONCE THERE WAS A… PIG
- This song/book is an empowering tale about 'Stinky,' the pig, and his dear friend 'Luna,' the rabbit. Luna is such a good friend to Stinky that she teaches him and others on the farm how important it is to be yourself.
ONCE THERE WAS A… CAT
- This song/book is about 'Bob,' the cat, and a little pony, (more commonly known as 'Little Bitty Tom') who is afraid of the dark because of all of the noises he hears in the night. By introducing the pony to his nighttime, animal friends, 'Bob' teaches the pony that the creatures of the night are just as friendly as those who can be seen in the daylight. This book makes a wonderful, bedtime story!
Each soft cover book includes a CD with multiple tracks to choose from:
· The original song to sing along to
· A ‘live’, animated reading of the book, with a turning cue so the children can flip through the pages and read along
· An additional track with some words left out so the children can practice their reading and rhyming skills
